ABOUT

A few words about me and this blog.

On a warm September evening I was sorting out my holiday pictures : so many pictures of museums, exhibitions, works of art…
What to do with them? They gave me the idea to do something with my passion, which is visiting museums and exhibitions, learn, discover new horizons and explore. Why not start a blog, a museum diary to collect my impressions?

Besides museums and exhibitions I’m also passionate about nature, travelling, biking, cooking… That’s about it, but most of all,  I am always eager to learn and I found out that museums and exhibitions, however small they are, are an excellent place to do so. Museums are real temples of knowledge, like the ‘encyclopedia britannica’ in 3D or ‘google’ the old fashion way.

And yet, I’m not the type of visitor that spends hours and hours in these buildings, that reads every caption or text, or goes through the audioguide until the battery runs out. I am much too impatient and restless to do so. ( Is there anyone out there like me?)

What do I actually expect from a museum visit?  It has to leave a lasting impression on me, a scar in my brain and with a sandbox like mine, now that’s a challenge! Not only forgetful but also impatient as I am, I want to understand, most of all, in a grasp what the exhibit or place is all about.

Did I like the exhibit or not? Was it worth the visit or did I find  it a complete waste of money? Did I learn anything new, did I become any wiser?

That’s what this blog is about: I describe briefly – more for myself than for anyone else –  my impressions on a museum or exhibition.

Have fun with this museum diary…
